About the role
National Field Service Engineer – Medical Technology
Western / Central US | $125,000–$135,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
We’re working with a growing medical technology company looking to add an experienced National Field Service Engineer to its US service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer who enjoys variety, travel and technical problem-solving. You’ll work with sophisticated medical equipment, receive extensive manufacturer training and certification, and become part of a highly experienced national service organisation.
You do not need previous experience on the company’s specific equipment. Full product training will be provided.
The Role
You’ll provide Field Service support across the US, working alongside regional engineers and providing additional coverage where it's needed most.
The position combines responsibility for systems closer to your home location with broader national support, giving you considerably more variety than a traditional fixed-territory Field Service role.
Responsibilities will include:
- Installation, preventative maintenance and repair of complex medical equipment
- Electrical, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting
- Software, networking and connectivity fault finding
- Supporting regional Field Service teams across the US
- Working closely with clinical and technical teams at customer sites
- Completing comprehensive manufacturer training and certification
This is a Monday–Friday position with a high level of autonomy and travel.
The role is ideally suited to someone based in the Western or Central US with good access to a major airport. Locations of particular interest include Los Angeles, Houston, Kansas City, Seattle and Portland, although other well-connected locations may be considered.
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in experienced Field Service Engineers from backgrounds such as:
- CT, MRI, X-ray or Nuclear Medicine
- Radiation Oncology / LINAC
- Multimodality imaging
- Other complex electromechanical medical equipment
You’ll ideally combine strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with an understanding of computer hardware, software and basic networking.
Previous Field Service experience is highly desirable, along with a genuine willingness to travel extensively.
Training & Travel
The company makes a significant investment in training its engineers.
During your initial 3–6 months, you'll work alongside experienced engineers across different parts of the US, gaining exposure to installations, maintenance and service activity before becoming fully certified.
As a National Field Service Engineer, travel will remain a significant part of the position beyond training, so this role will particularly suit someone who enjoys being in the field, visiting different locations and working on a variety of technical challenges.
Some service activity takes place during second and third shift hours, so flexibility around working hours is important.
Package
$125,000–$135,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus:
- Target performance bonus
- Excellent medical benefits
- 401(k) with company match
- Generous PTO and separate sick leave
- All business travel fully covered
- Company credit card
- Company phone and laptop
- Extensive technical training and ongoing development
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer looking for a high-autonomy national position with advanced technology, extensive training and genuine long-term career development within a growing medical technology business.
